At the Birmingham hair transplant clinic, the cost of a hair transplant typically ranges from £3,000 to £8,000, depending on the number of grafts required, the technique used, and the experience of the surgical team.

What’s the Price Per Graft?

Whilst we don’t base our costs on a strict per graft approach, we use graft numbers as a guideline to surface area size. There is a different in price between which surgical technique we use and is most appropriate for the patient.

• 500 grafts cost £3,000 – £4,000. This is around the surface area of an eyebrow and a little bit more.
• 1,000 grafts cost £4,000 – £5,000. This is around the surface area of 2 full eyebrows.
• 1,500 grafts cost £5,000 – £6,000. This is roughly the size of a smaller hairline.
• 2,000 grafts cost £5,500 – £6,500. This is roughly the size of a larger hairline or a small to medium crown.
• 2,500 grafts cost £6,000 – £7,000 . This is roughly the size of a larger crown.
• 3,000 grafts cost £6,500 – £8,000. This is roughly the size of the frontal third area of the scalp for some people.

FUE Hair Transplant Pricing

The FUE hair transplant method involves individually extracting hair follicles from the donor area and then implanting them into the recipient area. It’s a very time intensive procedure that is priced at between £3,000 – £7,000 from smaller (500 – 1,500 grafts) to larger cases (2,000 – 3,000 grafts).

FUT Hair Transplant Pricing

The FUT hair transplant involves excising a strip of skin from the donor area and then suturing it up. The grafts are extracted from the strip of skin and are then implanted into the recipient area just like the FUE technique. The price is +£1,000 more than FUE as it requires more experienced technicians involved because of the cutting and slithering of the strip of skin as well as more expensive microscopes to be able to work on the strip of skin.
